Getting Started

This tutorial is designed to throw you in the deep end and get you creating page content as quickly as possible. It will cover logging in, adding a page, installing a Text/Html module to a page and making a few text edits.

If you are using a Mac, replace the CTRL commands with the APPLE key.

Logging In

Log into your site by first selecting the 'Login' link that is located just below the bottom left of your page.

If you cannot see the link it may have been coloured to match the background of your page design. If this is the case, press CTRL+A to select the entire screen. This will highlight all content with a different background colour and reveal the location of the login link. After clicking on the link a new screen will appear.

Enter your login details and choose 'Login'.

Control Panel Visibility

Once you are logged in you can reveal or hide your Control Panel by clicking the arrows in the very top right of the screen.

If the arrows are pointing down as illustrated it means the Control Panel is hidden.

Edit Mode

You will be unable to edit content unless you are in Edit Mode which  is enabled by selecting the 'Edit' radio button in the top left corner of the Control Panel.

View Mode will show you how your site appears when you are not logged in.

Design Mode will show how your site appears without content.

When in Edit Mode blue triangles will be visible at the top-left corner of your modules. These are called handles. Roll over these handles to reveal a drop down menu .

To edit your Text/Html module select the first option, 'Edit Text'.

The Editing Area

The Editing Area is the space where you will type in your text and format your page content.

If your page content is longer than the available space in the Editing Area, a scrollbar will appear.

You can highlight text by pressing your left mouse button and moving across the text. Release the button and the text will remain selected. You can then apply common keyboard commands such as CTRL X to cut,  CTRL C to copy, CTRL V to paste - or right click and use the same functions from the drop-down list.

The editor also recognises common keyboard shortcuts such as:

CTRL+A to 'select all'
CTRL+Z  to 'undo'
CTRL + Y to 'redo'
CTRL + B to 'bold' type.
CTRL + I to 'italicise' type.
CTRL + U to 'underline' type.
